Finally...the Truth

Last night my suspicions were officially confirmed after my mom underwent exploratory surgery...doctors found a tumor in the right lung...in addition to small tumors on the outside of the right lung...all were biopsyed for now...next is treatment but that will not happen here...she will be airlifted to Jackson Memorial tomorrow...as they equipped with one of the best cancer centers this close to the island...although John Hopkins in Baltimore is the preferred choice...

My mom is in recovery and resting...when I saw her last night...she was in pain and groggy after the procedure...she recognized me when she opened her eyes...but she was not all there...In a way I was relieved by the news....the last seven weeks the doctors she had could not say what was wrong with my mom...she was constantly in hospital...(although I say there's a lawsuit in there somewhere)...but be it as it may...her health is my first concern and the treatment thereof...not to mention her state of mind when she will be told today...what her situation is...

The Right Thing is Hard Sometimes

What a day---today...my mom was told at the doctors office that a clot has re-emerge on her right lung...this clot suffocates the lung making breathing a labor...how depressing this news was to hear...on top of that the second set of test results came back with malignant cells of which the doctors can't explain their origin...this is after the first tests came back inconclusive...I just sat there, stunned & amazed...for my original impressions are somewhat confirmed...she was admitted back in hospital tonight...Her demeanor has changed leading me to believe that despite her bravery...she's concerned and maybe even afraid...

My next step is a second opinion...I plan on air lifting her to Miami Baptist before the week is out...How do I say the right things now that need to be said...

My Peace
