The Search is Over...

I woke up this morning and I'm blessed...today for me...is one of those sad/sweet days...one of my high school car pool buddies is being buried today...he was a good guy...with a good heart...that got caught up in tragedy...may his soul rest in peace...

After today another hectic week will be over and I look forward to Sunday and Monday off...Easter is always a happy time...for my family...we get together, socialize and just be in the presence of one another...our third and fourth generations don't have an appreciation for family gatherings...they're present but yet you see them in their own little worlds...as if they're bored and would rather be somewhere else...the little ones enjoys the treats and their little cousins...but it's the teenagers that I worry most about...when I see them...I wonder what this world has in store for them and what is to become of a legacy started by my grandparents whom most of them never knew...

I leave you this Holy Saturday with deep thoughts...of the mysteries in finding myself...

I took time in the dark of night
searching but not finding for whom I seek
Is it you or is it me?
I ponder and wonder in fear
as I look in every unlit corner and tear

What is it that I seek when I find it
all these hours of the night
Is it you or is it me?
Am I lost...in this eerie of darkness
among all this travesty
I touch and feel ... the only heartbeat I hear
rings loudly in my ear

The break of light consumes the darkness
and I came face to face for whom I sought
Is it you or is it me?
I looked and smiled for the end of darkness
has finally seen the light...and
in the light I finally found --
me.
