Friday's Rantings

Waking up this morning with varied items on my mind...accomplished so much yesterday but still have some ways to go...however I am thankful that a brotha is able to do the things he has to...

I was out with a few friends the other night having a few libations at the "dawg pound" where boys meet, greet and sometimes sleep (lol)...when a fellow blogger www.sebpro.blogspot.com
said my face looked familiar...and sure enough it took nothing more than two minutes to figure out who we both were...it was great...he's the first blogger I've met since I commenced blogging in Jan 2006...AA's film was being touted and shown to the masses at the film festival in Decatur...anyone and everyone who has a chance should see it...the brotha sure has skills and I'm proud of him...

Yesterday...I messed up...I have this friend...a special friend...whom I haven't seen since Jan...due to circumstances...however we talk almost everyday...enough of the background --yesterday he popped by the house...I met him outside...told him I was entertaining another friend (female) of mine that also popped by earlier...I then invited him in...and he came in but I didn't introduced him to the two friends that were already in the house...he introduced himself...I just continued fixing drinks....my special friend left shortly after getting there...I could tell something was wrong...before this ends up as a novel...let me say...in hindsight and in conversation this am with special friend...Actions always speak louder than words...I was wrong and I admit it...firstly...I didn't greet him with a hug, a kiss or nothing when I first saw him....also I should have been the one to introduce him to my friends...the interaction between my female friend and me...can be deceiving at times...we have it like that...but just good friends...nothing more...nothing less...I know I'm on the back burner now with special friend...

Today is a new day...I'm moving diligently to correct my wrongs and move on...but before
I do so...my moonlighting author Jay Jay...sent me this .... so I'm sharing it with you...

Girls
are like apples
on trees. The best ones
are at the top of the tree.
The boys don't want to reach
for the good ones because they
are afraid of falling and getting hurt.
Instead, they just get the rotten apples
from the ground that aren't as good,
but easy. So the apples at the top think
something is wrong with them, when in
--reality, they're amazing. They just
have to wait for the right boy to
come along, the one who's
brave enough to
climb all
the way
to the top
of the tree.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the task itself has become easier, but that our ability to perform it has improved.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson
