Why do we say we want/need a person in our lives but then again we're not willing to go the distance?

For many of us when challenges hit a relationship we buckle, fold and called it quits?

Why is it some friends with their two cents don't know when the appropriate time is for their two cents?

Are your friends your lovers friends and where does loyality begin and stop with your former partner friends?
